Lawyer in Salt Lake City opines on the Alta Ski Resort Snowboard Lawsuit with a chance of Catinlap’s Birthday Poach!
The Constitution probably doesn’t give snowboarders an enforceable right to use Alta’s lifts. This is what one of our attorneys in Salt Lake City believes and his lawyer comrades tend to agree.
When news of this lawsuit was circulated around our law firm there was quite a buzz. Some of the buzz was surrounding the constitutional law aspects of the case and the rest was about the big law firm that filed the lawsuit. Having a large regional firm file a lawsuit that makes many people laugh doesn’t occur all that often.
Please let us know what you think the right result of this lawsuit should be. Do you think that skiers should not have to share their slopes with the likes of snowboarders? Do snowboarders have constitutional rights to use their snowboards on publicly owned lands? Very interesting questions associated with this case!

The Snowpark Alta Badia has come a long way. It was developed and installed back in 2008, and was constantly improved year after year. It was and still is one of the best snowparks in the Dolomites, beautifully surrounded by some of the most breathtaking mountain in the alps. The scenery and the italian vibe make you want to come back year after year, and that is exactly what many riders and crews do.

Catinlap’s Birthday Poach!
Okay–this isn’t exactly a poach onto "sacred" Alta land by an evil snowboarder because Alta is closed. Catinlap, however, decided to go for a birthday run on Alta after climbing the ridge. Joining him, of course, was the Croin.
This was fun to take since they were the only ones on the mountain, they are easy to spot if you zoom in.
